"Au Courant" photographs
Scope and Content Note
This collection consists of photographs from the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) magazine Au Courant. Some of the photographs chosen for specific issues are in folders by issue number; other photographs, probably from the "stock photos" of Au Courant, are in folders by subject; other photographs are unsorted and still in the original developers' envelopes. Some photographs are labeled. There are some negatives and a few slides as well.
This collection also contains a few text-based files, including a folder of story ideas, clippings from other newspapers on topics of LGBT interest, and press kits.

Processing Information Note
Summary descriptive information on this collection was compiled in 2011-2012 as part of a pilot project conducted by the Historical Society of Pennsylvania to make better known and more accessible the largely hidden collections of small, primarily volunteer run repositories in the Philadelphia area. The Hidden Collections Initiative for Pennsylvania Small Archival Repositories (HCI-PSAR) was funded by a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
This is a preliminary finding aid. No physical processing, rehousing, reorganizing, or folder listing was accomplished during the HCI-PSAR project.
In some cases, more detailed inventories or finding aids may be available on-site at the repository where this collection is held; please contact John J. Wilcox Jr. LGBT Archives of Philadelphia directly for more information.
